The Role

The role of the Director of Sales is to increase the number of companies using Panther by defining sales strategy, implementing processes, and recruiting, coaching, and managing our sales team.

In this role, you'll get to

  • Shape a compelling narrative that reflects Panther’s value proposition and identity: We are a Seed-stage company. Everyone, from CEO to the Head of Sales, needs to roll up their sleeves to prospect, pitch, demo, and close deals. You will be deep in the trenches, empathize with our customers' pains, put their needs before your own, and be a core part of the growth-minded team that is shaping the Panther narrative.
  • Example: Closing deals ranging from thousands to millions of dollars
  • Fine-tune the ideal customer profile of Panther and growing a healthy pipeline: As a young company, Panther has successfully attracted a group of meaningful logos, such as BigID and Latch, through mostly organic efforts. You will be a key force in identifying and fine-tuning Panther’s ideal customer profile, and growing a healthy customer pipeline through inbound and outbound sales channels.
  • Example: Building relationships with our largest potential and active customers to win referrals from their networks
  • Build a world-class, high-velocity sales team with limited resources: We are scrappy, ambitious, and tenacious. We operate from a mentality of scarcity. You will be responsible for hiring and coaching a group of talented sales teammates who are passionate about building a category-defining company. You will also be in charge of structuring compensations, managing sales forecasts, and empowering sales team members to reach their full potential.
  • Example: Scoping an Account Executives role to join your team, and interviewing potential candidates
  • Design a scalable sales process from scratch and increasing sales velocity: We think in systems, and gravitate towards continuous optimization. We understand that we have to do “things that don’t scale” to get started, but we would love to start asking “how to scale things” from the very beginning: You will map out every step, from prospecting, qualification, to proposal to closing, and continuously improve this process with a creative mind and a data-driven mindset.
  • Examples: Setting up outbound sequences for buyers at various stages in their journey; Setting up quarterly sales-team-wide OKRs and reporting the results to the CEO
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in driving company’s revenue growth: We are building an unprecedented, remote, diverse, and tight-knit community at Panther. You will be a master communicator and collaborator extraordinaire with your fellow leaders at Panther. We prioritize direct feedback and build honest partnerships.
  • Example: Sharing insights with the Product team of what buyers are looking for

About You

  • 2-4+ years experience leading a team in a hyper-growth sales environment
  • 5-8+ years of progressive growth in a sales, marketing, or customer success role
  • You can think in systems, and gravitate towards building things that run on their own
  • You are a proactive, efficient, authentic communicator, and are excited about working in a diverse, global, distributed team
  • You have a positive-sum mentality, and you’re equally excited about rolling up your sleeves to get something done, or reflecting on our Sales strategy and big picture
  • You deeply strive to empathize with our customers’ pains, put their needs before your own, and build collaborative partnerships
  • You can coach, empower, and lead a team of high-potential teammates
